EDUCATED CONSENT

Independent learning resource advocating for consent education as an intervention for AI, digital, and real-world sexual violence.

Raising Awareness of AI-Facilitated Sexual Violence

AI is rapidly scaling harassment and exploitation through the spread of deepfake pornography, grooming chatbots, and sexual extortion. AI-facilitated sexual violence (AIFSV) especially affects children and marginalized groups. Learn more here.

Understanding Digital Misogyny

With figures such as Andrew Tate and the series 'Adolescence' entering mainstream cultural conversations, understanding how violent, misogynistic online spaces operate is critical.

Advocacy

Childhood Safety and Empowerment

Age-appropriate consent education can provide young children with the language and understanding needed to advocate for their bodily autonomy and assert boundaries. When children know how to communicate their experiences, they are in a better place to get help.

Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention

When young people are consistently taught the mechanisms, behaviors, cycles, and psychology of domestic and sexual violence, they are well-equipped to recognise the patterns in their relationships and communities. Terms such as coercive control, love-bombing, grooming, etc. can be more clearly understood and addressed.

Media Literacy and Critical Thought Education

Young people are exposed to an onslaught of misinformation online, where issues of consent, healthy relationships, and sexual health are contested and unclear. Media literacy and critical thought education can help enable young people to identify red flags and dangerous information online.

AI Sexual Violence Awareness

Artificial intelligence software can and is being used to generate non-consensual deepfake pornography, grooming chatbots, and child exploitation material at mass scale. Education can help adults and children alike identify deepfakes, warning signs, and spread awareness to promote corporate and government prevention policy.

Working towards safer communities, healthier relationships, and responsible digital spaces through comprehensive, consistent, global consent education.
